The client was straightforward about what he didn't want. No dark walls, no dramatic lighting, nothing that would feel out of place with kids in the room. But he still wanted it to feel like a cinema when the time was right. The answer was in the lighting. Strip lights on automation — bright enough for everyday family use, dialled down to something quieter when a film starts.
